EFFECTS OF NITROGEN RATE AND APPLICATION TIME ON RICE YIELD AND NITROGEN USE EFFICIENCY IN ALLUVIAL SOIL OF HAI LANG DISTRIC, QUANG TRI PROVINCE

This experiment was conducted in two seasons of winter - spring and summer – autum 2014 on the alluvial soil at Hai Lang district, Quang Tri province aimed to determine a reasonable rate and application time of nitrogen fertilizer for rice. Research results have shown that when applied 10 tons of farm yard manure + 90 kg N + 60 kg P2O5 + 60 kg K2O + 500 kg lime/ha in two applicaiton times of nitrogen fertilizer (1) basal application (30% N) and dresing application at tillering stage (40% N) and panicle initiation stage (30% N) or (2) basal application (40% N) and dressing application at panicle initiation stage (60% N) for HT1 variety on alluvial soils in Hai Qui commune, Hai Lang district, Quang Tri province to achieve high yield and nitrogen use efficiency and also to improve some chemical properties of soil after experiment.
