EVALUATION ON GROWTH, DEVELOPMENT AND YIELD OF NEW WATERMELON VARIETIES AIMED SEED IN THUA THIEN HUE PROVINCE

Objective of the study was to select 1 - 2 varieties with high yield and adaptation with local condition. Results show that most of new varieties had suitable duration (70 -76 days), tolerate with adverse condition well, high yield (50 - 90 quintal/ha), in which there was a seed aimed watermelon variety namely Binh Thuan medium seed, which had performance of higher yield, good quality and tolerant ability with pests and adverse climate than other varieties and control.
